About the kever

The Western Wall, also known as the Kotel, is one of the most sacred places in Judaism. It is the last remaining wall of the Second Holy Temple in Jerusalem, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. The Wall itself was originally part of the Temple Mount’s outer retaining structure, built by King Herod.

For centuries, Jews from around the world have come to the Western Wall to pray, reflect, and leave written prayers tucked between its ancient stones. It is seen as a direct connection to the Divine presence and a symbol of enduring faith and hope.

Today, the Western Wall remains a place of unity and spiritual devotion, where visitors of all backgrounds are welcome to stand before its stones, offer prayers, and feel the deep sense of history and holiness that surrounds it.
